Colour Contribution for Stereo Image Matching
نویسنده
چکیده
We examine the contribution of colour for the computation of depth maps from a stereo pair of colour aerial images. As a matter of fact we propose an original method based on fusion theory to compute dense and reliable depth maps. The fusion is directly applied on correlation curves obtained for each colour channel. In order to evaluate the quality of the elevation map, we compare our results to a 3D data reference. The results show that colour can improve the quality of the matching.

Implementing an Adaptive Approach for Dense Stereo-matching
Defining pixel correspondences in stereo-pairs is a fundamental process in automated image-based 3D reconstruction. In this contribution we report on an approach for dense matching, based on local optimization. The approach represents a fusion of state-of-theart algorithms and novel considerations, which mainly involve improvements in the cost computation and aggregation processes. The matching...
متن کاملEvaluation of Different Methods for Using Colour Information in Global Stereo Matching Approaches
Global algorithms currently represent the state-of-the-art in dense stereo matching. These methods first set up an energy function. The energy function is then subject to optimization, which is typically achieved via graph-cuts or belief propagation. In this paper, we concentrate on the energy modelling aspect. An experimental study that focuses on the role of colour in stereo energy functions ...
متن کاملColour correction of stereo images using local correspondence
In this letter, we propose a method for enhancing the accuracy of colour correction in stereo images. The goal of this work is to perform colour compensation at corresponding points in a stereo image pair using local correspondence information. First, relevant matching points for colour transfer are extracted using a modified stereo matching algorithm. Then in order to account for illumination ...
متن کاملNew Pseudo-CT Generation Approach from Magnetic Resonance Imaging using a Local Texture Descriptor
Background: One of the challenges of PET/MRI combined systems is to derive an attenuation map to correct the PET image. For that, the pseudo-CT image could be used to correct the attenuation. Until now, most existing scientific researches construct this pseudo-CT image using the registration techniques. However, these techniques suffer from the local minima of the non-rigid deformation energy f...
متن کاملMulti-Modal Matching Applied to Stereo
We introduce a compact coding of image information which explicitly separates visual information into geometric information (orientation) and structural information (phase and colour) and temporal information (optic flow). We investigate the importance of these visual attributes for stereo matching on a large data set. From these investigation we can conclude that it is the combination of diffe...
